Successful Teaching

Classroom management and teacher knowledge are the most important aspects of successful teaching. You can't successfully teach your students if you aren't controlling your classroom. Students must understand what you are explaining, pay attention and engage. You can make a joke when you feel that students are bored, make them laugh, and let them speak. After that, you can continue the lesson. If class control is lost, then you will lose everything in the class. If we teach students in a variety of methods and we bring real life examples to the class, then students are likely less to cause any trouble. Each students has his  way of thinking and understanding, so they need to feel comfort and that you're teaching everyone alone. Teachers must always feel ready to answer any question from the students. This will help the teachers feel that they're helping the students build their futures, so that we feel we're more responsible. The students we're teaching, maybe ...

Webinar

Image
The New Art and Science of Teaching On April 13, I attended a webinar titled "The New Art and Science of Teaching". It was presented by Robert J. Marzano. He talked about the categories of instruction, how to design questions, and how to develop expertise. If we apply effective application of instructions and strategies, it will have and effect on the students and it will enhance them. The 10 big categories of instruction: providing clear learning goals, assessment, direct instruction lessons, practicing and deepening lessons, knowledge application lessons, strategies for all types of lessons, engagement, rules and procedures, relationships, and high expectations. Students must understand the progression, know the important content, so they can deepen their understanding and develop fluency. After that, the students generate claims and integrate new knowledge with the old one. Students need to feel welcomed and comfort in order to engage, pay attention, an...

Lebanon Pollution

Image
The pictures speak!!!! Litani River  Litani River  "Switzerland of the East"!! Lebanon: the country located in the Middle east, Beirut is its capital. It has been suffering from pollution for a long time. Different kinds of pollution has occupied it: water pollution, soil pollution, air pollution, and noise pollution. It is the greatest disaster for Lebanon caused by people and the country itself. People throw garbage everywhere either near sea, rivers, or lakes, and in the public places. Farmers also are a reason for pollution, they water their lands and plants with sewage water. The sewage water floats when it rains. This doesn't only cause pollution but it is causing a lot of harmful diseases.  Roads are always crowded because they lack regulations.  Factories and cars are causing the air pollution.  If you look at the pictures of the Litani river, you will see the pollution rate that is increasing day by day. The smell of t...

Teaching Writing

Image
Teaching writing is an extraordinary class that I always enjoy in the class. The first step I teach my students to do while writing is the mechanic process. The second step is writing grammatically, in which sentences and paragraphs are formed. The last stage is writing composition for communicative purposes. I always teach my students to focus on unity and to relate the supporting details related to the topic sentence. If any sentence or paragraph does not relate to the topic sentence, it should be omitted. Students must keep in mind coherence in which the sentences are arranged logically, conjunction, and discourse markers. Also, they take in consideration vocabulary and idioms. Students and I always enjoy this class because it is the most interactive class. We feel the class is crowded because all of the students want to share their ideas and ask questions. In addition, students will work in pairs or groups and share their ideas, so their relationship will be improved during ...

A Childhood Memory

Image
Memory is the process of remembering what we saw, learned, did, and lived. It is hard for a children to forget some events from his childhood. One of my childhood memories I always remember is the Fruit salad. When I was in Kg2, the teacher taught us about the letters and a word for each letter, many of these words was about fruits. When we finished learning some letters, the teacher asked us to bring some fruits to make fruit salad. We bought fruits and we made delicious fruit salad dish. What let me remember this memory is preparing a fruit salad dish at home😊. While I was preparing it, I remembered every single moment I spent in the class. After I remembered such event from more than 10 years, I started thinking about the children we face everyday. We should not tell them any bad word or hit them. Whenever a child want to speak, just listen for them. Sometimes, children like to speak about a dream he saw, but we think they are lying, but really they aren't. What I conclud...

Opinion....

Here in this blog you'll find some thing about my opinion in logic 😶  I will start by defining logic and I will talk a bit about it.  Logic means there's no fixed idea, no fixed concept, no fixed attitude. There is no one right ideology. So, we can say logic is any action or thinking that leads us to the good results based on our requirements and goals.  Actually, whenever we say logic, people think about math (adding and subtracting), but for me, logic is the way of thinking that makes me satisfied. When I want to achieve one of my goals, I need to think logically to pass the right way and think properly in it. I need to know the positive and negative sides of this goal.  There is no relation between logic and philosophy. But logic melts in religion. Logic can change our lives through thinking in the right way. We can be happy when we make the right decision thinking logically and depending on our religion. When we hav...

Lessons Learned in Life

Image
Life is full of ups and downs. Since everything we do has its positive and negative side, we will face the good and bad things. When we start a new job, we start it enthusiastically. We need to gain new experiences, meet new people, and earn money. But, when we really start, it becomes a routine. Everyday is like the day before. If we face a problem, we start wasting time by thinking negatively about this problem. But what we really have to do is to think about a solution to this problem. Even if we fail in this work, we must learn from this failure. When we were students, we failed in school. This failure made us feel sad and depressed, but we didn't know that this failure is the first way to succeed. Failure must push us to success. So, what I've learned through my continuous experience is to always look at the positive side of any matter and learn from it. Whenever we meet new people, learn from their experience, listen to them, and try to spend as much time as y...

Five Tips to a Successful Teacher

Image
The successful teacher has some specific characteristics, here are some tips for being   a successful one. 1. Set clear objectives: To be sure you are driving on the right safe way, you must set clear objectives, which are the specific statements of what the students are expected to learn. Whenever we have clear objectives, we will enable students to develop the knowledge and skills expected in the subject. 2. Hold high expectations of the students: Students need someone to believe in them, motivate and encourage them. They need to feel comfort in the class in order to show their abilities and share their ideas. When the teachers believe in their student's abilities and let them feel that, the students will work to make that expectations happen. 3. Make learning fun: The teacher can relate the lesson content to the students' real life, students need to know when they want to use what they're learning and connect it to their future. Teacher can convert the lesson t...

Achieving Dreams…All about Faith

Image
When we want to achieve our dreams, we start thinking whether it will success or fail. We set the goals clearly, we know well that we need to achieve such goals, and we think in positive way about goals. But before all of this, we need to have faith. Through faith we will fight fear and our confidence will increase. Achieving dreams will let you use your time well. When we face any difficulty while working on achieving anything, our faith will help us trust that this is just a period of time and it will pass. In addition,       we’ll be thankful that we have a gift each day to keep making progress. Don’t let your mistake or failure cause you to give up, but make sure that your failure is your first way of success. Stay focused on your dream, keep working hard, have faith in yourself and you can do whatever you set your mind to do. Having full faith will help you achieve your dreams and keep in mind :”you are who you choose to be.” ...

First Day as a Teacher

T eaching is a journey that I decided to start with the Syrian students. The first day I went to school as a teacher, I wasn't fully prepared to that. I entered the class and my sister was with me; I told her:" please, don't make me laugh because I will lose my presence beside the students."         I entered the class with just a smile on my face, I greet the students and present myself to them. Then, I did a circle to let the students know each other. It took a long time to memorize the student's names since each section had about 33 students. In this day, I thought I won't know how to deal with students from different environment, but the day passed. When I came back home, I felt that the journey has started and from now on I am owning a great responsibility "the students future".     I started thinking about the teachers I know, what they told me about teaching, how to deal with the students, and the way they teach. In addition, ...
