Lebanon Pollution

The pictures speak!!!!

Litani River

Litani River

"Switzerland of the East"!! Lebanon: the country located in the Middle east, Beirut is its capital. It has been suffering from pollution for a long time. Different kinds of pollution has occupied it: water pollution, soil pollution, air pollution, and noise pollution. It is the greatest disaster for Lebanon caused by people and the country itself. People throw garbage everywhere either near sea, rivers, or lakes, and in the public places.
Farmers also are a reason for pollution, they water their lands and plants with sewage water. The sewage water floats when it rains. This doesn't only cause pollution but it is causing a lot of harmful diseases.
Roads are always crowded because they lack regulations.
Factories and cars are causing the air pollution.
If you look at the pictures of the Litani river, you will see the pollution rate that is increasing day by day. The smell of the river spreads everyday specially at night, many people are suffering from diseases because of it. The garbage floats on its face, I think if you stand on it you will not sink.
If you just look at the pictures, you will understand what Lebanon is suffering from.
All of these are a result of the absence of the countries interest.
Pollution is a major issue that must be solved as soon as possible.

  1. Unfortunately, you are right. I am so sad reading these true facts about our country!
Actually we should not have to present the problem itself, because we all know it. We should start trying to solve these huge problems. I think we can! We are teachers, we are building the society. Let's try to warn the new generation and to provide them with the full awareness about Pollution. May God help us to do so...
